In our trip we’ve stopped in almost each village to visit the old, almost falling, church. Usually the gate was closed, but if you ask around you will find out that there’s somebody in the village holding the key. People are polite, but I am not sure how many know English; – but if you are wandering around Brașov county with a Romanian next to you, you should try it. I like more these old churches, with simple decorations and a lot of space between you and the ceiling, like between your mind and God there’s the purgatory of thoughts. Compared with the imposing catholic churches from Germany or Netherlands, you will find modest buildings, but having the common organ and statue with Jesus. Compared with orthodox churches, they are even more modest, simple and, somehow, you can feel the breath of divinity inside.
